According to legend, black tea was invented by chance. At the end of the 16th century, a ship was carrying a large load of green tea from China to Europe. The trip, lasting longer than expected, lead to the fermentation of the tea in the ship's hold, however it was still sold and much appreciated as an inspiring novelty. Black tea is fermented 100%. The infusion has a red-orange amber colour, which is more or less intense, with balanced and astringent aromas.
